What is Challenge Wheeling?
cw_youthservicesChallenge Wheeling is a scavenger race throughout the downtown Wheeling area. Each race is part race, scavenger hunt, and urban exploration. This is an interactive adventure that navigates you through Wheeling as you solve clues and complete challenges all the while seeing the sights, learning local history, and most importantly raising money for Youth Services System, Inc.
The Clues
After gathering at the Race Headquarters | River City, with your team, you’ll be given a clue sheet with 12 clues. Once the clock starts at 10am, you have until 1pm to complete the race. Be sure to bring your brains and your smart phone or camera in order to decipher the clues as quickly as possible!
The Race
At 10:00am, hundreds of racers take to the streets to complete a variety of exciting mental and physical challenges at unique stops throughout the city. Your team is free to choose your own route as you hustle from clue to clue on foot or by using public transportation. Whichever route you choose, you’ll be sure to discover the hidden gems of our city.
The Celebration
You just conquered your concrete jungle; time to celebrate with your teammates and fellow racers! After completing your challenges, head back to River City and enjoy an Italian Buffet, $1 Michelob Ultra drafts, activities, and the music of DJ Daner
At 1:30pm, get ready for the awards ceremony where prizes will be given to the Top Three Finishing Teams.
